Editorial Consultancy

This service option allows you to book a consultation with me to discuss a specific issue you’re having with your writing. Perhaps you’re not convinced that your opening is really going to grab your reader, or you’ve written yourself into a corner and aren’t sure how to get out.

Maybe you know that you and your story need some help from a professional, but you aren't sure what that help should look like, or what service you need, and you want to brainstorm before you make any commitments or decisions.

This service is especially helpful for problems or concerns that arise during the drafting/revision process, and for discussions around a particular craft skill/element, or stage of the publication process. It is not suitable for issues that involve long sections of writing.

However, if you’re after some advice on larger sections of text or your whole manuscript but aren’t sure that you want something as comprehensive as a developmental edit or as in-depth as a manuscript critique, it might be that you would benefit from a manuscript evaluation, or something more bespoke. If that’s the case, feel free to contact me to discuss your needs.

(Please note: I offer a maximum of three consultations on any one manuscript. However, if you feel that you would like something a bit more long-term, I am happy to discuss the option of a coaching service, and I also offer manuscript evaluations, critiques or full developmental edits on manuscripts following consultations, if needed.)

What you get

The editorial consultancy service allows for a 90 minute zoom call with me to discuss any developmental issue you like. It also includes the option for an email exchange after the zoom call if you have any final queries.

Rates

The editorial consultancy package is a fixed price of £120.

How does it work?

Once you have decided that you would like to work with me and have settled on the consultancy service, please contact me by clicking the button below and then filling in the contact form as completely as you can, and I will endeavour to get back to you within two working days (often much sooner!) to discuss your needs.
